What is microblading?

Microblading is the technique of tattooing individual hair strokes with a handheld tool called a microblade. Unlike traditional tattooing, which uses a machine, Emma hand draws each hair to match the color and coarseness of your eyebrows. The result? Gorgeous, natural looking eyebrows.

Does the application hurt?

We take every precaution necessary to ensure the microblading procedure is as pain free as possible. A strong topical anesthetic cream is used prior to and during the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible. Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable while others report no discomfort at all.

How do I schedule a microblading appointment?

You can book an appointment one of three ways:

Visit emmaharm.glossgenius.com

Click "Book" on Facebook or Instagram (Emma Harm Ink)

Call or text (605) 460 - 2191

How should I prepare for the appointment?

Emma will shape your brows with you. You are welcome to come with them drawn in the way you like or cleaned off ready for Emma to work her magic. In the week before your appointment, avoid blood thinners, aspirin, alcohol or using retinol creams.

How long is the microbladIng appointment?

The initial microbladIng appointment is 3 hours long. Any retouch appointment following the initial appointment is 1-1.5 hour long.

Will my eyebrows hurt after the procedure?

After the procedure, your brows may appear slightly red and feel tender. Clients carry on work and social routines as normal.

How long is the microblading healing process?

The microbladIng healing process is 2 weeks long. During this time, Emma gives you very specific instructions on how to care for your brows – no sweat, brow makeup, or water on the brows during this time.

Will I need a retouch appointment?

Every skin type will accept the pigment differently. Knowing this, Emma offers an optional retouch appointment 6-12 weeks after the initial appointment. During the retouch, Emma ensures you are 100% satisfied with your brows by adjusting where needed.

How long does it last?

The pigment used in microblading is semi-permanent and can last 1 - 3 years. The pigment will begin to fade within 12 months. To keep your brows looking fresh, a color boost session (annual brow retouch) is recommended every 12 months to 24 months.

Can you microblade over an existing brow tattoo?

Microblading can be done over an existing brow tattoo, however the old tattoo must be significantly faded for the hair strokes to show through and look natural. Any client with previous work done must complete a consult or send clear, makeup free photos to Emma before booking an appointment.

Can I have my eyebrows microbladed if I am pregnant?

If you are pregnant, you cannot have your eyebrows microbladed.
